To The Boobs At WordPress

funny-baby-cry-boobs

Or you can join WordPress and you will feel their presence everyday.

Don’t get me wrong. Lonely Author appreciates boobs just as much as the other guy. But come on.

The Boobs at WordPress never cease to amaze me. Now, I no longer receive email notifications of new posts from the people I follow.

REALLY???

They may not think it matters, but it does to me. The Reader is inconsistent.

I just ran through the Reader and I saw no posts from Blogs I follow most faithfully. Nothing from Dajena, Tosha, Leslie, Meg, Geetha, Soeline, Carisa, Annie, Christina, Thomas, Lisa, Jacqueline, Jennifer, Lamarr, Marissa, Spiritkeepers, Bushka, Dr Colton, Siren Song, Souldiergirl, Miss Amelia, Mary, Suza, Monica, Sheila, Arohii, Chape, Paul, Bun, Jen. Getting Over Anxiety, Laurel, & so many others.

Should I assume they haven’t posted anything??

I follow everyone who follows me. So, imagine trying to keep up with 1000+ using only the reader.

If I receive email notifications, I can hold on to them until I have a chance to catch up with my reading. So I don’t miss a thing.

But WordPress Boobs continue to fix what is not broken.

Hey, I currently have about 7 Blogger friends you CAN’T comment on my posts. And So far, there is one Blog that I follow devotedly and my comments never appear on hers.

FIX THAT BOOBS

I tried to contact these Keystone Cops about these communication problems, but no reply.

Alas, this Chimp will find a new way to keep up with his closest friends.

I could only dream that the boobs at WordPress get an enhancement, perhaps some Big Boobs will make things better. If not, at least, they will be a pleasure to look at.

  1. Digging the metaphor. I also noticed the consistency issues with the Reader. I miss posts on there from people all the time and just assume they went dark. Great blogs that I have to go and track down. Gets annoying.

      1. I had the same problem but normally when you go to the button manage which is on the left side normally of your reader page, you get to tune the emails regularity (instant, daily, weekly) and type (posts or comments on posts). I have started using that since a couple of weeks now because my time is running thin and it seems to be working pretty well. You basically type out the name in the search box after you have pressed the button and choose the option for emails (I put out a post once called Dear WP family and friends or something of the sort…).
Btw, the reason you miss out on the reader itself is that the WP bigwigs went and thought – oh so wrongly – that it would help to black out a few posts if you are following too many people so when you’re scrolling down too fast, you miss the link which says – show/load more posts or something of the sort. So if you’ve missed that link in between posts, you just go straight through to the bottom not realising you’ve missed out on new posts from the people you like.
        I hope that helps.

        1. Thank you. Last night I went through the Manage files. And reset all 1000+. Reset all to daily notifications. Yet to receive an email. Someone provided me the link to a WP biggie. I will contact him. I have 7 people who can no longer comment here. And one that I follow where I can’t comment. Imagine if the connection is lost between us. I would SCREAM. Thanks for your help. For the next souple of days I may be inconsistent following blogs as I try to rectify this issue.

            1. Well, I am now on my second cup of coffee. I suspect there will be an afternoon nap today. Geetha, I try to be faithful to all who are faithful to me. After Valentine’s I will probably publish less often (but keep up with my blog reading) so I can get back to my novels. Need to get back to my priorities.

  2. Lol! I’ve been having problems as well… The worst has been discovering that I’ve been completely unhooked from others; suddenly discovering I’m no longer following blogs that I regularly read. Luckily my numbers are small enough that I notice, eventually, but still. Why disconnect me?

    1. Exactly. Honestly, I try to follow so many, now this change will make it nearly impossible. The reader is too inconsistent. Honestly, I don’t ever remember finding one of your posts in my reader. Not one. But I did receive your email notifications. It isn’t right. I wouldn’t want anyone to think I am not following or just ignoring them. Thanks for commenting. I amy fall behind or miss a post now and then.

      1. By the way… Do you think we think you’re deceiving us somehow? First a post on honesty, then you mention it more than once in your reply. Trust me, my dear Chimp, we all believe you. Really! Lol…

(Just trying to make you smile through your frustration…)

My personal hell today was the Editor that kept stealing my words. Seriously! I was typing along, trying to keep up, and I would look up to see that nothing but the last two letters actually appeared in the post. Grrr…!

        1. That happens when WP is actually saving your post. They put in autosave as an option because when people’s ISP was bad they were disconnected and the post had not been saved as a draft. The problem is autosave keeps interfering with your input of text into the edit area.

              1. I think you may be right, Geetha! However, pixies and sprites can sometimes be “convinced” (read bribed) to counter the leprechauns’ evil intentions. Luckily your timely information saved me from selling the family farm to protect my latest blog entry! You are a good friend. Thank you! 🙂

  3. My Reader is wonky too. I did post today so you are missing it. I found I had been disconnected from a fellow writer the other day, thank goodness I discovered it. They are always messing with stuff and making it worse.

      1. I completely understand you! I do not know what has happened to the Reader? Mine used to work perfectly, but it has been a bit off, lately, not updating itself regularly like it used to. And also I don’t always get the notification symbols for replies to comments etc.. Oh, don’t worry about me, I am happy whenever you swing by no matter if it is often or less often.☺
I do hope they can fix your mail, so you can get your fix of stuff to read. 🙈🙉🙊💙

  4. Let’s see, boobs, those firm warm globes which give when squeezed and cause a squeal of glee from their owner. Yes those I do love with a passion.

Boobs (aka boobies) those warm (?) bodies working (?) at WP who can’t tell what is functioning properly and should be left alone, and are oblivious to the growing myriad of system error message. Them I can do without!

  5. I have noticed that your attendance has been rather spotty and it’s a good thing you wrote this as I was about to disown you. Only kidding! Actually, I too rely on my emails for the blogs I follow but haven’t noticed any recent problems. Sometimes I don’t get them because they go to my spam folder and I just mark one ‘not spam and the problem is corrected.

  6. I do the same thing Meg mentioned – I have my favorites emailed to me and the rest, I read in the reader when I have time. I don’t think I’m missing any emails — I’ve gotten a bunch in the last few hours — but who knows? I have noticed a few I regularly read missing… I assumed they were taking a break. That could be totally wrong! I’m sorry emails have stopped… 😦 WP should be all over fixing shit like this! And I’m totally offended that I’m “so many others” instead of Sandra! 😛 I’m kidding! 😀 😀 Thought you could use a laugh!

    1. Hey, there were too many names to include, And seriously, I thought yours was there. Shit. That’s why I don’t like to start naming names. Sorry. WP is driving this chimp bananas. Oh, bad joke. I will try to reset all my settings. Thanks for responding. So, I am the only one having this major problem. Ugh

      1. Oh my God, no! You don’t need to apologize! Oh dear, I was just being funny (or, apparently, I wasn’t). Honestly, you’re a nice guy, very sweet, and I was just hoping to lighten the mood… because I know how miserable this must be — I once went days without being able to comment anywhere because WP’s filter thought I was spam. I mean, seriously, spam. How offensive. At least categorize me as turkey or pork (the other white meat)… hell, even bacon. But not spam. Gross. 🙂

  7. Oooh, the quiet and romantic chimp is a little annoyed. So the problem continues, huh? Sorry to hear that. I will echo what many people here have said: check your settings. For good measure, log out of WP and log in again. And clear your browser cache. Heck, restart your computer. If all else fails, well, I do hope the WP boobs hear ya 😀

  8. You know you can reset your preferences, right?

On the Reader, under (next to? – depends on your device, I think) “Blogs I Follow” there is a ‘Manage’ button. This will give you a drop-down list of all the blogs you follow, and you can manage your email notification preferences from there.

    Easy, peasy. 🙂

  9. I turned all my emails off so I don’t have to worry about who fell off the list I follow. I do hope they get that fixed. I used to complain to them but never got an answer to the question. Maybe they don’t know. I like this post.

      1. Well that title should get their attention. I will be interested to know if they ever do answer. I like to post on that Matt Mullenweg’s, developer of WP, blog that I’m having problems that seems to get a response when I was helping my friend Belinda get help. http://ma.tt/ this is his new blog address. I’m sure he doesn’t like it but I always go to the highest ranking person I can find.

  10. I had the same problem very recently and it was a pain. I got no help either but managed to solve things by going through the reader and changing all the ones I was no longer getting from immediate to daily. Daily is a Royal pain but at least i get them.
    Hugs

  11. I couldn’t agree more! I thought it only happens to me when those posts didn’t appear. I have no idea how the posts was selected to be in the reader or not. I really hope WordPress could fix this, cause going through all the emails is alot of work.

    1. Well, I will be honest with you, I follow you and I have never seen you in my Reader. This is all screwed up. I have aout 7 blogs that can’t comment on my posts. How frustrating is that? They need to straighten out these problems before they make more changes. Hey, thanks for stopping by to read and comment.

      Liked by 1 person

        1. How did you contact them? I have been trying to and I can’t get through. I have so many friends that can’t comment on my posts (and they’re not in spam). And now there are blogs where I can’t comment either. Very frustrating.

                    1. Thank you so much! Guess WP decided to mark my comments as spam again! 😀 This is the 3rd time within 3 months. Many of my blogger’s friends encountered this recently. I’d found them in my spam box. Sigh… Don’t know what’s wrong with WP.

  12. Aw, I’m sorry to hear you’re having such funky 1st world problems, my friend. 🙃 I have the opposite, I follow & get subscribed w/out wanting emails.🙄 What if you made a new email just for the smaller amount? Also, try reinstalling the WP app or sprinkle holy water on ur device (cover it first) 😈😇 I do hope you get it fixed. You are so sweet & fun. Have a great night, Hun 🍃🌺💕

    1. I mentioned one blog where my comments never post to. IT IS YOU. How can my comments of your amazing words not reach you??? Not fair. Yeah, I am considering an exorcism. The power of Christ compels you and stuff. Okay, I will try your suggestions. Thanks my dear. I truly wish you and yours are well.

  13. You’re always in my reader, but maybe it’s because I don’t follow that many people? I don’t know. WordPress can be irritating at times, especially comments ending up in spam etc. But it’s free and my problems are minor.
I don’t know how you manage to keep up with so many blogs! Good for you 😀

    1. Smiling. I did it through the emails. Makes it easier than the Reader. Here is an example. I started following you. So, maybe in the beginning I missed posts, once I set up the notifications, I rarely missed a post. I’m recuperating from back surgery, so at the moment I have plenty of time. Thanks for stopping by.

  15. The Reader has its inconsistencies. Being female, and straight, I’m not here to see boobs. It’s funny/maddening (depending on my mood) that some of the biggest boobs in LIFE happen to be male human beings (Donald Trump skipping the Republican presidential debate because “Megyn Kelly hurt his feelings” previously, he’s a huge boob & simultaneously he’s another part of the female anatomy I won’t mention in polite company).

    1. LOL There appears to be some pretty big WP boobs working the system. The most important issue for bloggers is to be able to communicate smoothly with others. What better way for WP to grow their product? Anyone thinking of using WordPress for business purposes must be out of their minds or desperate to lose cash. As for the Donald (from my home state of NY), I shy away from political commentary on my blog. But I will say this, 2016 will be a historic year for the USA and the direction it will move in because the last 2 Presidents Bush & Obama have failed MISERABLY. After 16 years of failure, we cannot afford 4 more.

      1. Yeah the Donald is from my home state of New York (I’m from Brooklyn, NY) although he built so many hotel/casinos over in Jersey I prefer to think of him as their problem.

I don’t use WP for business (I want to sell myself, I’ll go old school and stand on a corner under the streetlight where my customers can get a good look at my wares), but more for entertainment (my own and other people’s).

      1. I have myself experienced a few problems with the Reader. I also faced issues with the app for Windows after it was launched. Gave the admin guys feedback through comments section but nothing was done. So I guess that’s what it is!! 😛

  16. I’m having the exact same problem I am not getting any notifications at all. Infuriating. I have to trawl through the reader. Time is limited today and it’s jolly annoying. I pay for a premium whatnot and yet the little thing in the bottom right hand corner has disappeared. This would be where I would normally shout out loud but ….

  17. You’re not alone as previous comments have said. I’m been having Email issues the past week. I’m getting a few notifications but it’s not the ones I faithfully follow. I have learned something that seems to help. I will unfollow and follow sites. I noticed I’m getting email notifications from the recent people I follow. When I unfollow and follow again it helps (but not all) So I’m going to unfollow and follow you to see if it helps 🙂 I pay for my site… I was having so many issues they refunded my money but kept me premium! Thinking of you! ❤️

      1. The difference I’ve seen between the upgrade is the themes. You get a wide variety of themes and you’re able to personalize them more. Also, the storage for pics. I use lots of gifs and pics so I needed it. Also, even though I’ve dealt with sooo many problems with WP, I feel the customer service reps do contact me quickly. There are times when I can chat live with them. I do appreciate that! Crossing fingers we get it sorted out! Hope you have a great day! 🙂

  18. Thank you for sharing, I did not know this was a problem.
I certainly was aware of the awful policy to fix what was not broken and after their great fixing, and retooling, and awesome new features that no one requested voila!
The end user must relearn the wordpress operations, deal with unwanted new features, and seek assistance to deal with bugs and glitches!

My one compliment to WordPress is they are open source and have not been bought out by Microsoft or Google, well not yet anyway!

The rumor is that Microsoft may be a lurking partner, like they were with Skype before that buyout…

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Thank you for that info. I had no idea about the rumors. Interesting. They just straightened out my notification problems. But I have plenty of bloggers than can’t comment on my posts. They need to fix problems before doing unnecessary tweaks. Thanks for stopping by, Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  22. Well said my dear Chimp. I have always known that you are a darling Sir. I am like you that follow everyone who follows me and it can be disconcerting to rely just on the reader. I have missed seeing some of my readers and I had to tgo looking for them to knock on their doors. I just don’t get the idea of tweaking thing’s unnecessarily.
