Yes, I know what you are thinking. Lonely Author is not playing with a full deck.
Well, this Chimp may have misplaced a few of his picture cards, but there is a method to his madness. Please bear with me.
Yes, I realize this is nine months early (November 25th).
Friends asked why I ignored International Woman’s Day on March 8th. Honesty, these days fail to excite me.
For those of you who have followed me closely, you know where this is coming from.
Why do we need these days?
Here we are in the 21st century and women are still abused, underpaid, and unappreciated. And I’m not even talking about the atrocities against women or the exploitation of young girls happening in many countries around the world.
That is why I don’t get excited about these days. I don’t think they are helping. Not the way I wish they would.
I will leave you with this thought.
Shouldn’t everyday be International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women?
Or better yet…
Shouldn’t we live in a world where we don’t need an International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women?
Be well butterflies.
How did I miss this? I very important cause indeed. Thanks for sharing.

Was “Butterflies” a homage to your childhood crush, Lisa?!

Smiling. I usually end up referring to all women as butterflies. But she was the one who started it. Thanks for reading.

My pleasure. There should be awareness year round. No reason for anyone to be a vicrtim of violence, not in this day and age. Be well.

Ahh forgive me Andrew, for not coming across in words as I was in real life while typing my response. Everything I said was tongue-in-cheek. (I did not see a place on your blog to submit a private note, hence this comment. I also deleted my comment on my blog.) I was teasing you about being a bit of a Casanova, as I couldn’t help but notice your post about the snarl some of your readers had gotten into amongst themselves over a post you shared. And of course, you do have plenty of admirers, but that in itself is a thing to be admired. Please don’t think that anything I said was in a negative light, it was all simply a tease. I love your work and I am aware of your respect and admiration for women. You have my respect and admiration in turn. Hope your day is gorgeous, just like your writing, just like your soul. Again, so sorry!

Oh, God, I feel so much better. I am always clowning around, but since you are new to me, I wasn’t sure if you were playing. So so sorry.
Tease me all you want. Now, I know you have a good sense of humor. Laughing over here. You didn’t have to delete the comment. It was my misinterpretation.
Aaaaaw, you are so sweet. I hope you have a wonderfl and inspiring week. And yes, I still look forward to reading more of your writing.

Oh whew, thank you for responding to this. I was honestly so worried about it! I feel relieved too, I hate misunderstandings through text, they are the worst.
I love to banter and jest and tease. I have 7 brothers, and they can be relentless when they tease, so we end up roasting each other all the time. But I love those interactions. Oh God, I still feel bad that my text came off the wrong way when I think about it, but thank you for being patient and working with me through the misunderstanding. Also, being a Kissing Bandit isn’t a bad thing lol. To me, it just means someone is charming and has the power to sneak in and steal a ladies heart away without her even realizing exactly how it happened. And I mean that in the best way with a splash of mischief thrown in. I live for mischief like that.
It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance and I hope we can forget about any unpleasantries forever. (My mind wasn’t on straight this morning, I woke up with vertigo and was puking from it, so that might be why I didn’t think through the implications of everything I said when I commented, and how it could’ve been misinterpreted.)

Love your definition of a Kissing bandit. Will have to remember that one. I will try to write a poem anout it. If I do create one, would you mind if I mention you and your blog?
Please forget it. lol
