Falling

falling-leaf

Hey, people.  Two weeks ago I had a tough week. Since then, most of my posts have been dark (very unlike me).  Trying to get back into my romantic writing, and seriously, I can’t find my mojo. Yes, the Chimp is without his romantic mojo.

If anyone finds it, please return it back to me.

This is a simple muchy one to try to get me back on track.

Falling

Quietly you watch
my slow descent
As your irresistible
gravity takes me in

As Natural as the
crisp autumn leaves
Baby, you have me
falling just for you

  1. A nice poem. Your poetry as of late isn’t that dark. There is nothing wrong with dark poetry if it suits the soul at the moment. It means to me working things through the ink in your pen. Be well friend

  2. 1.Come Again?
    “Oh really?” she asked
“What do you think?” he replied
    Love smiled, they agreed
Oh but what was the question?
Who cares, love is the answer!

    2. The sound of her words
can light up cold dark frowns as
    she smiles her sweet smile
    Memories of a lifetime
    hidden in those unseen tears
    (For your beautiful Allie)

Andrew, trust me to help people find their lost mojos. See I found yours. It was lurking in my archives of all the places, can you believe that!! . 😉
And if you still feel lost, after two of my attempts, then I gotta tell you. You gotta GO FIND IT!! Attaboy!
Your “Falling” is gorgeous. Now move that ass, get “Rising”

  3. Ohh, that last stanza was beautiful. As natural as the crisp autumn leaves… You still have that romantic mojo, even if you don’t feel it at the moment, it is peeping at us through your writing and taunting us with tantalising little tasters of that kind of world. I hope and wish all the best for you, and that you feel your mojo again very soon.

  4. Blushing. I can tell this was aimed at me. I have tried explaining I am a happily married man, but please, don’t stop trying! 😀
Seriously, don’t worry about the mojo. Your talent makes it worthwhile to read any of the words that make it to the monitor. Keep the faith!

  5. Here it is- I found it for you and send it with a x… Here’s an exert from a very old poem written in the 1800’s from my post on ‘Discovering Romance’ :

Ah my beloved, fill the Cup that clears

Today of past Regrets and future Fears –

Tomorrow? Why Tomorrow I may be

    Myself with Yesterday’s Sev’n Thousand Year………………….

    …………………………

Ah make the most of what we yet may spend

Before we too into dust descend……

    …………………………..

Then to the earthen bowl did I adjourn

    My lip the secret Well of Life to learn;

And lip to lip it murmured – “While you live

Drink! – for once dead you never shall return………..

    1. That is an amazing piece of writing. Wow Thank you for sharing that. If a poet fails to find inspiration after reading that, they never will. Thank you so much for this incredible comment and share. Do you have more old stuff like this on your blog? Let me know so I can search for them. Thanks.

  6. Don’t be afraid that your writing has taken a dark turn – keep going- remember us humans are highly complex and 3 dimensional – loved this poem. It has a dark tinged opening but the ending is pure and full of light 🙂

    1. Aw, thanks. I usually write mushy love stuff, and this has been such a struggle. Thank you for reading and for your supportive words. I appreciate that. By the way, this comment just popped in my dashboard. Have a good weekend.

Wait, what – Chimp losing his romantic mojo? I wouldn’t worry too much if I were you; this piece is enough to make anyone fall. 🙂

    1. Thank you. Awwwww. I have been under quite a bit of stress for the last few weeks. It will come back to me one of these days. (By the way – this message just popped up in my dashboard. I have lost 30 to 40 messages everyday because my inbox gets too loaded.) Have a wonderrful weekend.

  8. Must be something in the air…I’ve lost it (or got it too). The spark, or the doldrums. Guess I need to just start blogging again….This poem you wrote is lovely. 1st time I read it, ummm, still dark. 2nd time, oh that’s sweet!

  9. This is so lovely, short and sweet 🙂 If you are looking to find your mojo again, try listening to your favorite love songs and maybe write about it 😉 It’s just a thought that came to me now, I’ve never done it before but I’m sure you would turn it into something gold and brilliant. Hope you are feeling good today 🙂

      1. You just made my day Andrew, thank you so much. I am also lucky to have you as a friend and you can ask me anything anytime and I mean it. Enjoy listening to some good music tonight, I’ll do the same but at my piloxing class so it won’t be very romantic 😉 Haha..but I do love romantic music otherwise. For me, some days I need the music and other days I need the lyrics. Maybe today is one of those lyrics days for you 😉 Keep smiling 😀

              1. It will, Andrew. Don’t fret about it, and work on something else. Everyone has those dry stretches, and it’s good that you have another creative outlet to work on until the rain decides to fall again.

  10. I really like this one! It is simple and short, and yet so sweet and says it all. 🙂
I hope that the tough times are passing or have passed. Feel free to blog about it, if you want to. You know that you would get all the support in the universe from me and others here. Or, otherwise, just put everything into dark poems, that is also a good way… 🙂 Be well. xo

  11. I hope you’re rising from the ashes of that week my friend…dark places are not much fun although I do draw inspiration from them.

Simple and wonderful prose…I hope the mojo returns…or I’ll be back to check 🙃

      1. Good 🙃

Just stay thinking good thinks and if bad ones start brewing focus on the moment you are in and cast them aside…dead easy to say that is 🤔
What can I say about dark writing….personally I love it…elements drip into nearly all mine 😊

          1. I know how it feels to be in dark places where it’s hard to crawl out of….seeing it in others forces me to go say hi, throw in some words that might help and encourage them to move forwards and stop looking back….write on is right….I think lol. One day at a time…until then use the dark to write the thoughts that emerge…just write and eventually the mojo will return 💐

              1. That’s the first step my new friend…if the writing wants to come out its not for us to pick and choose but to let it flow…I am more a biographer methinks. My characters tend to do all the work and I just put down what they say…sometimes if fizzes and sometimes it’s a bit flat….but if it wants to come out then who are we to question thungs 🤔 I’m not certain Saturday morning is a good time to attempt anything profound 🙃 Still…I could just have gone with good morning and been dead boring 😜

                    1. It gets worse….if people find you acting out dialogue exchanges with different voices and accents they usually quietly suggest seeking professional help…if you then say don’t worry I’m a writer they look at you and nod sympathetically then suggest it again 🤔

  12. Your mojo will return soon. Sometimes it just takes a break but it’ll be back in full force. It’s okay to get dark every now and then. Sorry about your rough week. Hopefully things are smoother now. 💙

  13. Very nice poem…short and sweet!

I think Mercury retrograde is affecting a lot of us creative types out there, LOL – I have little to no inspiration for much of anything except staring out the window, watching the critters.

    Mojo shall return, soon!
    🙂

    1. Aw, thanks for that info. I’m struggling with every words I write. Writer’s block is the worst. Thank you for kind words and supportive message. On a side note: watching the critters can be fun. Thank you.
