The One Constant

The One  Constant

Tombstones contain
words so easily worn
by weather and time

The tides ebb & flow
may eventually wash
away your words too

But there will always
be that one constant
the things I feel for you

Allie emailed me this photo in 2010.  One of my treasured memories during that difficult period of our long distance romance.

    1. Thank you. That photo means so much. Yes I survived. lol It was the best party Allie and I ever hosted. Everyone left asking when one was the next. Happy to provide such a lovely send off to my dear friend. Now, she is waiting for us to visit her.

    1. Yeah, she does. She emailed me that pic. The next day I was calling immigration asking them what was taking so long with the paper work. Laughing. She is a treasure. Every bit as romantic as I am. Thank you for stopping by to read and for your lovely comments. Much appreciated. Be well.

    1. Smiling. I was thinking of you the other day. Strolling through the park with Allie and I asked myself if you were taking advantage of the weather. I didn’t blog for three days. Enjoyed the weekend. Today and tomorrow I can catach up with everyone. But the relaxed pace is wonderful. My projects are brewating more life since I have more time for them. Family is happier. It is a win win situation.

    1. Thank you and thank you. Mucho appreciated. On a side note: you know every time I see your little pic, I can’t help but think of Katherine Heigl. Your eyes remind me so much of her. And she is BY FAR one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. Hope, I didn’t embarass you. Never was me intention. You are a lovely lady and a tremendous writer.

    1. Laughing. Yes, I am well. I was away from the blog for three days. Trying to catch up on my reading. Never give up on love. It does exist. And happily ever after exists as well (as long as a person has reasonable expectations of love and relationships). Happy you like the photo and poem. Thank you for all your kind words. Hope you are well.

      1. I understand. I will be popping in and out (mostly out) of Blogland myself this week, due to work. And yes, when you say love exists I do believe you and it is a very comforting thought. Hugs! 💙

  2. It’s great you appreciate the old memories. These lovely poems you dedicate to her, are even greater memories. All in one, I consider you think yourself so lucky to have her in your life. But I believe you both are very lucky to have each other.
The love feelings have never been more plain to see.

    1. THank you so much for taking the time out to read and leave your wonderful comments. I appreciate that. Have a wonderful weekend. And just so you know, this is one of thosemessages that WordPress takes from my inboxand erases it, only to have it reappear days or weeks later in my dashboard. So, please do not read anything into the delay in my response. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend.

    1. I have had recent prolems with my WordPress. I lost hundreds of messages that have suddenly reappeared. Thank you for the compliment. And thank you for taking the time out to read. I appreciate that. Again, sorry for the delay in my response. Have a great weekend. Be well.

  3. My friend. This inspired me. The idea of constancy. I may run with that. Thank you. And moreover, the idea of constancy is something we neglect these days in favor of immediate gratification and THAT is not a good thing at all.

      1. Oh I totally agree. An impatience that neglects the beauty in anticipation or working toward things, taking your time. As if our lives are so urgent we must do it all NOW or perish! I agree so much. Lovely work my friend – as always from you.

  4. Hi, Fab blog! I am still in the very early stages – 4 months old. Just making efforts to link in with fellow bloggers to improve our followers and get the word out there for us both. I would appreciate you having a peek at my blog, as I have published several posts. Feel free to like, comment, follow or just take a peek. Thank you 🙂

  5. Aww, this is so nice Andrew! Long distance can be very difficult, but carving out time for one another is very important. It is also the little things that mean the most – just like this photo Allie sent to you. 😊
