The Firefly Who Wanted To Be A Star

The Firefly Who Wanted To Be A Star

Once there was a tiny
firefly who wanted to
glow upon this world.
A task impossible for
one lonesome bulb.

Every night she shined
so bright yet she never
became a star. Until all
her little friends joined in
 to illuminate the dark.

One firefly alone could
never change a world,
but thousands working
together can create a
universe here on Earth.

My wife found this image in Google and asked me to write a poem about the Firefly who wanted to be a star.

  1. Great message my friend, the power in numbers, what a great example to use.
On a slight deviation, it always amazes me how millions of people will do nothing in certain situations, until a harsh reality has reached their front door, and by then its too late, a dictator is in power…or whatever it happens to be.

  2. Such a thought provoking poem man. Reminds me of a single water drop. Alone, it can’t do much. But when it coalesces with billions of others, its powerful enough to create tsunamis, and far more. Love this piece. The concept is brilliant and your execution was on par. Keep up the great work!

  3. Andrew, I love this! What you wrote is so true, the power is in the group and that’s what support is all about. Lighting us up from the inside out. I hope you’re having a great summer, I am back from holidays now and had a nice time. 🙂

  4. Aww, so sweet, Drew! Yes, together we can create change, light and hope for the world. Make the world a better place as the song We Are the World came to my mind. Yours is original thought too. ❤
