Beyond Repair
Unloved.
Neglected.
Mistreated.
With love I recovered
all of her broken pieces.
With kisses I attempted
to heal her wounds.
But
trust never appeared,
her tears never ended.
How could I have known
she was broken
beyond repair.

Your poem inspired a response which I will post on my blog next and ping back to you if that’s okay. Thank you for sharing from your heart. I know it’s difficult to love those who have been hurt but don’t despair. You will see, no one is ever damaged beyond repair. You cannot fix her, but the love you have given her all this time, and the love you are giving her unconditionally now is allowing her to build the tools she will use to ultimately heal herself. I know this for a fact because I have an angel who loves me like this and allowed me to find my own way to healing. ♥.

We all understand what you have written in our own way..such depth even at the surface. brilliant work of art. Written from the perspective of the repairman who found a lovely thing, a broken thing in his eyes and yet loves it. He escapes failure as he places the thing once again broken beyond repair. His repair. His despair. ♥️. I love your work.

Not necessarily broken beyond repair; rather not in your power to fix. We can love and support others through their trauma, but we can never “fix” them…

We are all broken to some extent. But as you say we can never fix them. Hopefully we can teach the to live with their imperfections, especially if we can show them we love their imperfect way.

Indeed. Love is a great motivator to change and heal. To know we are worthy of such from another can be the tipping point from further damage to early healing. So long as we remember that all such healing must be accomplished by self, not other. Such a reminder is necessary to avoid both dependency and co-dependency. Just my opinion, of course. 😀
LikeLiked by 2 people
I understand and agree with you 100%. Co-dependency can be a big issue when salvaging these broken souls.

Spoken like the gallant knight you are, Sir Andrew. Lol! I, myself, have fallen victim to that role on far too many occasions. Such is the price we pay for having big hearts and a desire to serve others. So let us carry on, supporting and reminding each other of boundaries, while we continue to reach for these broken souls, if only to lighten their loads for a while. 😀
