In Another Place and Time
(A Tale of Love Reincarnated)

Our souls met under the hot sun
In the land of the Pharaohs
The magic of a first kiss under a date palm
Lasted for quite a while
Until we made moonlight love
On the banks of the mighty Nile

Time passed before we were one again
Me the glorious warrior standing
Alongside my controlling Spartan wife
While you tended my wounds which often bled
I boasted of victories on the battlefield
Yet every night it was you who conquered me in bed

Years had passed when you died in my arms
Succumbing to the mysterious Black Death
Then came my arrival to the New World
Greeted by your warm Native American smile
Two hundred years later you became my loving slave
And me the master you beguiled

After centuries of living and dying beside you
I search for my twin flame
In hopes of finding you once more
For souls travel without rhythm or rhyme
And I cling to the desperate hope of loving you
In another place and time.

          1. I love mojitos! I asked because to the best of my knowledge the ban on Cuban rum was not lifted. So, the best mojitos can be found anywhere in the world, but not in the States. Ha! Anyway, I am glad that you and your wife had a great day!

              1. Namdita I intended to read all your poems after my exams and i mean all of them…even the ones you shared before i discovered your blog. But aab jab kholi dodin pehle, toh i couldn’t find your previous posts. At one point i found it ws asking for a password. I intended to ask you lekin tumhare comments bhi disabled the and u were having a difficult time and i didn’t want to disturb u more.
                And even if rarely do this, u have all your rights to do it again Nandita. Okay? I know i’ll be missing out your posts becoz i don’t get much time for WordPress due to studies. Baas 1 and half months time aur. After that i’d b free entirely. Taab agar ek bhi post miss kiya na toh daat bhi dena hume okkkkkk?????? 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
