Mom Doesn’t Wear A Cape
.
Mom is too busy to iron her cape
living recycled days of work, chores, repeat
While the family basks in victories
she can never accept defeat.
Mom plows on in sickness and in health
because there’s no changing of the guard
She’s forced to hold it all together
even if life is a falling house of cards.
She finally has a moment of peace
while everyone is in bed asleep
Preparing for the storms of tomorrow
in a dark lonely corner, she weeps.

Yep, when my kids were asking me to help them even while I was on the toilet, I realized – no bathroom breaks in this job.

No there aren’t’ t any breaks in the toughest job on Earth. A job too often underappreciated. Thanks for reading and for your words.

So many times it does feel like being a mother can be such a lonely job, however, I have found that I find joy in leaning on my husband and friends. When we all stick together, it makes the burden a whole lot easier! Check out my blog for mommy support. Thank you for your honesty!
