lips unkissed

lips unkissed

.

Black sands of time rain upon me
Entombing me in a powdered cloud
Each grain marks the sad moments
Where we’re denied our love avowed

Another hour that I didn’t hold you
Sixty minutes I wish to never repeat
For if I could I’d renounce paradise
Just so I could die at your pretty feet

Another day passes without your love
And here I am longing to belong to you
As my cold calendar continues taunting
Asking me the date I only wish I knew

There is no romance in lonely sunsets
Nor in thinking of the beloved you miss
As I watch the sun slowly descending
Your trembling lips remain unkissed

  1. Each line like a drop of pearl
    Rolling down my moon-kissed cheeks
    Every emotion you conveyed
Planting a smile on my waiting lips

This was a gorgeous poem you wrote, darling. What a spectacular gift you’ve given me this morning! And you actually used this picture ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you my love for this and for everything you say and do that touches me like nothing else.

Will break down your poem afterwards. This is poetry at it’s flying best and I mean that with all my heart, not because it is for/about me. Great poetry deserves to be read and broken down in all its Glory.
    I love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕💕

  3. Wow. =D I so enjoyed this. It is so beautiful and speaks VOLUMES about your love for this special lady, Nandita. 😉 Of course, my favorite line was the last one. It just so smoothly slid into an excellent finish. I don’t know how you aren’t famous yet, both of you. I am blown away by your talent. 🙂

    1. You are very kind with your words. I am very happy you enjoyed this. But I have to tell you, my beautiful Nandita has been my patient muse and mentor. Anytime you read something inspiring on my blog, it originates from the feelings of love she showers on me.
      Thank you.

Great poetry needs to be read in depth and shared. Spectacular personification, breathtaking imagery, impeccable choice of words, double entendre, brilliant momentum, flawless flow, clever connect in all verses, and the full circle coming of the poem…My Lonely Author’s outstanding contribution to the world of poetry…truly a magnificent work of art. 5. Don’t tell any of whom I follow, but when I return from being gone, your blog is one of the first I come to read. For what I find is always, always savoring for anyone who loves poetry. Loved the last line, “your trembling lips remain unkissed.”

  6. A truly glorious poem, and these two lines were a stand out for me, as I am too watching my calendar.

  7. This was beautifully written and with so much feeling! Renouncing paradise to die at her feet, that line was touching. You sound like a man that thinks of his love on two occasions, that’s day and night. You’d sacrifice tomorrow just to have there today, and that’s love. This poem was love with a capital “L”. So many lines from the top to the bottom carried a wave of emotion and meaning. I read it twice because of how nice. This was truly a special read my friend and she is a special lady for a special guy. 🌹🌹
And this comment isn’t copywrited either. 😉
