My Crescent Moon

My Crescent Moon

.

She believes she came from the dark side
Never realizing she descended from the stars
More stunning than the rings of Saturn
She radiates a love as red as Mars

I admire her imperfect little craters
Loving every phase unless she’s blue
She will forever be my crescent moon
Longing to be new

          1. You are such a good man for saying that. I don’t know if anyone has said this to you before, but you are like a guy from a book. Nice, respectful, caring, loving, supportive, protective, understanding, gentle. Dude…. nobody is like that. Normally, girls think that guys like that only exist in fictional books. Nandita is lucky because she has found a real-life guy like that, in you. 🙂

  1. The Luna that eclipsed your heart, a perfect tribute to her indeed Drew and the picture is wonderful. I love the ending because I feel it’s always a new moon so you just fall in love with her everyday, your love is never ending. That’s so special, I see why she can never be truly blue with you Drew. Wow, that was cool. 😉. Anyhow, that was Earth moving, and she’ll be seeing stars after reading that. Great job.

  2. What a lovely tribute to the one you love.
We visited Griffith Observatory over the weekend. You might not know the area so I’ll mention that it’s in the hills above LA, made famous by the movie Rebel Without a Cause staring James Dean, Natalie Wood, and Sal Mineo. I used to love going when I was a teenager and then a young college student, staring at the stars and planets through the big telescope on the roof, wandering the exhibits. Anyway, I’ve long reflected on the idea that we are all made from stars and wished we could remember that more and fight less. A bit distracted from your poem here, but you also mentioned that your N is descended from stars. Just so.

    1. Well, the Big Bang theory states that everything in the universe, including us. came from that original cosmic explosion. So, in that sense we are all cut from the same cloth. If people thought like you and I, the world would be a different place to live in. I can see why you discussed stars after reading this. lol

I want to say something to you. I don’t like to air dirty laundry here, but you have been so supportive of my relationship with N. Obviously, something went wrong here at home. I am still legally married with Allie, because she is an immigrant, and as you well know, the climate here is not very favorable for these unwanted “outsiders.” She is waiting for the notice of her test for citizenship. Once this is done, and I know she can’t be deported, everything will fall into place for Allie, N, and myself. And everyone will live happily ever after.

      Thank you for everything.

    1. Seriously, I think it is a pretty good description of my sweet Nandita. She doesn’t realize what a treasure she is. Delighted that you liked this. Thanks so much for expressing your thoughts. Mucho appreciated.
