the beauty of a woman (For All Ladies)

the beauty of a woman

Woman
an enchanting paradox
for some
an alluring mosaic
to my eyes
A masterpiece
of artistry and love
She is a portrait
of her laughter
and long forgotten tears
A collection of stunning
jigsaw pieces
of heartbreak and memories
collected through the years
She is a labyrinth of emotions
a sweet sum of all her parts
To truly appreciate
the beauty of a woman
you must discover
the little girl
for she will forever be
a priceless work of art

  1. “A collection of stunning jigsaw pieces of heartbreak and memories collected through the years. She is a labyrinth of emotions a sweet sum of all her parts”. Seeing the girl underneath, how she is priceless… Wow, this is such a beautiful piece. So emotive and gentle and lovingly written. Truly amazing! xx

    1. Happy that you think this was beautiful. Thrilled in fact.
The little girl inside, who has yet to be disappointed or broken hearted. She is beautiful.
But then again, I find beauty in every woman.
Thank you for reading and for your beautiful words. They are appreciated.

    1. Very grateful that you shared your thoughts and reactions Suzanne. Women are all of that and so much more. We are all fragments
of our experiences. A man only needs to pit them all together to understand her and appreciate her true beauty. With that said,
I imagine the treasure of little Suzanne before she bloomed into this amazing poet.

Thank you for shariomng your beautiful words. They are gems here.

  2. There is a depth to this piece Drew, as delicate as it is profound. Words like mosaic, jigsaw are so well put together (pardon the pun), that I’m awed by how well you create brilliance in brevity with select words.
You have a rare gift, Drew… you understand people.

    1. Victoria Ray, I have been so busy recently, I don’t want you to think I have neglected you.

First let me tell you there is something strange going on with hyour blog. First, because of the size of my blog and since I don’t read everyday, I have to blog-read by email
      notification.

Okay, my blog email is Google; which breaks emails into three categories….Primary, Social, and Promotion. You are the only blogger I follow where her email notifications FALL INTO ALL 3 CATEGORIES.
I found quite a few in Promotion, which a never check. So, one day you will see s hit load of comments from me. This issue seems to have settled down and now they are only coming in Primary (where they should).

Thank you for your kind words. Happy you liked this poem. Means a lot.

Wait, as for the very you. I sincerely doubt that. As cool as you are? I don’t believe it.

About google email breaks I don’t know. But it’s nice when Ray is everywhere, isn’t it 😉😉
Maybe I’ll post too often, your mail box is Not prepared for that lol

  3. So many women (and men) should read this, because too many times I see people looking for only the pretty parts of a person’s soul, but fail to embrace and try to understand the cracks, the bruises, the scars that come with them. To be able to see that someone can still be beautiful, despite being broken and coming with a past that may not be all that pretty shows that you’re looking for the TRUTH of a person, not a perfected image of what you wish they could be. This poem, to me, reflects that and so much more. Really love the appreciation you give to the ladies in this poem, Andrew. Another one knocked out the park!

    1. Oh, what a comment. You hot it out of the park. Accepting a lover into our life, we must accept them for all of
their parts, the good and bad. The shiny and the broken. Your words always nail it.

Thank you Lady B. Always appreciate your thoughts. They fill me with joy, Makes me all apricot-y. LOL

  4. You are such a gorgeous writer, I have followed you for a while but hadn’t properly looked through. I’m so glad I did! Beautiful, romantic, touching poems. And so courageous in posting about your early life. It is true that through allowing yourself to be vulnerable you can be more connected to others. And that in being vulnerable, shame withers.

      1. I am already inspired by you. Your kind and humble heart reaches out to so many, and your poems are utterly beautiful. But also, I am very inspired by your honesty and openness, something that I struggle with so much… there you have it, another heart you have touched of so many. Thank you.

Don’t ever doubt the warmth inside your heart. I can feel it here.

          1. Honestly, I am not open and honest about the things that I should be. I have too many walls that I have held for too long. Reading these comments, and your poems, it’s clear how being genuine and true shines through in people. I am glad I have touched you, as you have touched me (haha, I did not mean for that to sound the way it sounds but I’m sure you know what I mean!).
