exotic fruit

exotic fruit

fluttering island skirts
flash silky thighs
feeling an urge for sin
I feel the rhythm
before the music begins
palm leaves sway
along with enticing hips
mango and passion fruit
linger on inviting lips

some cravings
are as irresistible
as the pull of the evening tides
my desires ebb and flow
memories fall
fantasies rise

a dreamer or a fool
surrounded by exotic fruit
longing for a taste of
only you

    1. Bravo Frank. You are not going to believe this. I wanted to post a bachata video along with this post, but the wifi has been so weak here, I didn’t dare. I considered two songs and this was one of them.

This was a slam dunk of a comment. Thank you so much for the video contribution. Truly appreciate it.

  1. Hmmm…

So what you’re saying is…someone has cast an enchanting spell on you and even though you’re surrounded by delicious and alluring, silky, fleshy, tempting … ‘fruit’ there’s only one fruit you want to sink your teeth into?
You’re not a fool my Lonely Author.
    You’re ridiculously effing romantic ❤️

    1. Laughing so damn hard. Fiery doesn’t waste any time getting to the heat of the moment. She just ignites the moment.

Yes, I guess that was what I was saying.
I would thank you now, but a little island bird assures me you will have more to say,

        1. Quick change of subject. Please see the video Frank added to the post. I wanted to add the exact video but I didn’t dare because of the bad wifi here.

Yes, you always get to the essence. But i expect you to – it’s part of your Fiery way.

    1. Very happy that you liked the vibe. The island has me totally hypnotized.

Thank you for your kind words & wonderful support. Always appreciated. I will drop by your blog to visit you soon.

In the meantime, plan that vacation. You deserve it.

  2. Hey,

Yes I have a real comment you deserve for your poetry, not just a paragraph full of naughty innuendos.
It looks like island life really suits you, my Lonely Author.
The first stanza read like a poem all by itself, all the temptations and tastes that come along with the heat and the allure of the beach and its sounds and the music… I know how that can be. You painted the picture beautifully. I love LOVE the urge for sin, the enticing hips and inviting lips…you’re so good at this.
The simile of the ebb and flow of your desires, memories falling and fantasies rising…makes me imagine all sorts of things and yet…even when I was reading all this delicious temptation penned by you I felt like there was something more to come because after all this time I know you and what to expect of your beautiful poetry.
And then finally, your last stanza betrayed your gorgeous and deep emotions of longing for that one person who you long for… perfection. Four little lines filled with a taste of love for “only you”, plays beautifully off the rest of this poem, taking us with you into your heart which I am guessing sways to its own warm beat, or along with the other heart that would long to dance on a beach to a sensual love – filled song along with you.

And in case I didn’t mention it, “only you” is one of my favourite little phrases ever.

A huge fiery sigh, which you probably expected from me.

I’m all warm, dreamy daydreams and softly beating hearts after reading this.
    Your,
    Fiery

    1. Apologies for the delay in my response. And just so you know, I have a real reply.
Just a note: I will miss the naughty innuendos.

You are so generous with your comments. Lips/hips….God this island is just os full of erotic images.
It is hard not to be tempted and write about this. Very grateful for your words.

More to come….? You think you know me that well? Lord I can almost feel the latin rhythms in your words.
Yeah, this was all about the endless temptations and the thirst that only one person can quench – only you.
I am happy you liked this. I tried so hard to set the mood and tone.

Only you was also a beautiful song. I would belt out a few lines but I would need a few mojitos first.
Well, you havde never givern me a fiery sigh before. So I am flattered.

      Grateful, humbled, and thrilled.

      Thank you FIERY.

      1. Okay.
I see what you’re doing. Coaxing me into opening up my tightly sealed box of naughty innuendos, wrapped in a little red bow?
        I won’t do it

You don’t think I know you well? I will be happy to argue with you all day and night, wrestle you if I must, for endless hours and hours , long past midnight and discarded bottles of wine as to whether I know you well or not. I wonder who would win..

Say “only you” to me a few more times, by the way, and see what happens. Big big fiery trouble…

Now I wonder what a Lonely Author intoxicated on hips, lips and mojitos would be like? The mind burns and wonders. And wanders. And burns and bit more.

I have never given you and fiery sigh before…hmm.

        Want some more?

        Your,
        Fiery

        1. Moi? Coaxing? Ha! I know it isn’t a tiny little box.

Mud wrestling without the mud I hope. Followed by a pillow fight. I will wear my Batman jammies.
Discarded bottles of wine. Gonna get me all boozed up, huh? (That’ll work).

          LOL

Wondering and wandering can be dangerous….

          Give me all you got.

            Yes you coaxing!!!

            Okay so no mud. Agreed.
Batman jammies…I was wondering when they’d make an appearance again. Or perhaps a disappearance…
Pillow fight.. I’m deceptively strong so you’d need to bring your A game.

And we both know you wouldn’t need to be boozed up. You could be stone cold sober and still I’d manage…

We’ll see about the “all I’ve got” part.
            Could you handle it..who knows.
            I’m quite a handful

  3. Lovely photo. Here in Toronto, it’s cold and the winds are ridiculously heavy. You’ve given a whole new prospective to exotic fruit, not to mention the desire to go on a tropical vacation. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

  7. Wow…I feel like I need an ice cold shower after that poem! Island fever is definitely sinking in. Ha!

I don’t blame you for not wanting to return to winter! I definitely don’t. Fortunately, it’s spring in Southern England now and we have lush, warm weather with flowers blooming everywhere. The rains will return, but for today, I bask in the sun. 🙂 But that photo that accompanies this poem…sigh. A perfect little piece of paradise.

What I love best about this poem is the last stanza:
    “a dreamer or a fool
    surrounded by exotic fruit
    longing for a taste of
    only you”
I’ve gotten to that point in my life where I could be surrounded by many very handsome men, but my heart yearns only for the one that I want to spend the rest of my life with. Just not entirely sure who he is yet. 🙂 But it will come…it will come. If I’ve learned anything, I’ve learned patience.
Sending a hug Drew and do me a favor…blow a kiss to the ocean from me and tell it that I miss it and will return to it’s tropical warmth one day. x

  8. Beautifully sensual and erotic. Love both poem and photo. Great work! By the way, I recommend you and the rest of the followers here to stop by my friend Mario Savioni, who is posting chapters of his novel “Pickles and Tarts”, where the theme of sexual desire also appears as in your poem. In addition, Mario deals with issues like: illusion-delusion, dream-reality, human relationships in the digital era with a man and a woman who are extremely different in age, similar to Lolita, only with no underaged girl, though young. Here is an excerpt from chapter 7: “Frank was hoping she was attracted. He prefaced with “As a writer” to offer her an alternative, however, which would save his face in case she simply selected him accidentally.”: https://savioni.wordpress.com/2019/02/20/pickles-and-tarts-chapter-7/
