a melancholy song

a melancholy song

outside my window
a bird sang a melancholy song
of infinite beauty and endless love
her lyrics resonated
like a gentle percussion of bubbles
popping in the recesses of my bones

she serenaded me
you will never see the stars
if you fail to peer
into the galaxies of her eyes
why wander the world
when you haven’t ridden a gondola
to the frontiers of her soul

the bird sang of orange sunsets
and skies forever blue
her song reminded me
there can be no true happiness
if I have everything
except for you

    1. You have me smiling here. I always wanted to ride one of those gondolas in Venice. It is actually on my bucket list.
You must have some wonderful memories from your trip.
Thankyou for your kind words and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate every word.

I wanted to ask you something from a long time. I hardly keep you with the few comments and blogs, and here you have, idk 200-300 comments, and you still manage to respond to all of the comments, you’re a superman dear friend.

        1. Superman, no I don’t think so. I am about to go on vacation, and I am sitting here trying to answer all my comments,. some that have been here since my last vacation in Febraury.
My life has been overwhelming the past month. I am trying to relocate to another state, so I have been so busy I am behind on responding to comments. But today I will sit here and answer each and every one,.

Thanks for the kind words. They encourage me to plow on.

  1. I love this especially the second stanza for she showed you the world in her eyes and you didn’t even have to buy a ticket! 😄 The last three lines in the last verse were simply heartfelt. The imagery in this piece is visually strong.
