is it time

is it time

how about now
I ask for the hundredth time
she always replies no
it makes me think
someone broke her heart
or she prefers to be alone
this man needs the inspiration of a sigh
the magic of a woman’s touch
sooner or later
my heart must love again
so I cling to hope
tomorrow I will ask her
is it time
beautiful metronome
my dear devoted friend

  1. Beautiful words, each line elegantly flowing. Do you always write poetry linking directly to you? I’ve been trying to explore subjects slightly different to my own emotions, and I find it doesn’t convey the same way.

    1. I used to write many poems about and for women and their fight for equality.
I currently have partial poems that may post when completed, that are not
about me or my emotions. Poems of love just come to see.

Thank you for your beautiful words and appreciation.

  2. It’s not that I don’t like the poem. I love it as always. It’s just that my mind went blank after summarising that he’s waiting for her to be inspired while the inspiration had kissed me and ran. 😂

  3. Time is all he needs and time is all she has and things will meet in the middle beautifully as the sighs of inspirations collide. Extended hands can’t pull time but dear friend, your words can spin it and when time stops and she is dizzy from the gorgeous versus, it will be time. Such beautiful lines my friend.🌹

  4. Sometimes it’s all a matter of timing, how our emotions and needs flux and change. The same question can result in a different answer, the question is one of how often you’re willing to ask and how long you’re willing to wait. Beautifully written, I love the metronome visual, it really emphasises the cadence of the poem. x

  5. Beautiful ~ hope is what keeps us going, and even when it becomes habit and there is some humor in it…there is always the faint chance “yes…” will finally be heard 🙂

  6. Your poetry is like a whisper in the wind that lingers like a soothing lyric… Is it time? Who knows? What I do know though, that it’s always time for the lonely author’s poetry! 😀

  7. This is a bit different from you. I see your style, your passion (love it), but the wrap up is more curious than usual… even humorous. It’s a wonderful thing!!! ❦

  8. I could relate to this poem. Each day I ask “is it time” and after hearing the answer, my day passes slowly only to wait for tomorrow to arrive so that I may ask and wonder again, “is it time?”. Alas, I know persistence is good but it is also a slow torture and yet here I am again, thinking “is it time?”

  9. sounds beautiful, but perhaps she is not ready……or hasn’t given up hope on someone, maybe she is trying to not get in a rush…..But what ever is meant to be God will work out. If her heart is taken and meant for another, what can one do but pray for God’s will. He always works things out to our best because he cares for us.

  10. Maybe she believes in timelessness and her heart has been lignified in that timelesness, dont break it, but rather thaw it out and probably then will it start beating again in your world of a timely love.
