Must Love Shoes

A bold glimpse into me. Since I was courageous enough to post this, I will leave comments open. I could use a good laugh.

Must Love Shoes

In a recent conversation with my friend Shelley of Quaint Revival I confessed my love for women’s shoes. (No, I do not wear them). No, not a shoe kisser type either, I just adore women who have plenty of shoes (in all styles and colors). Women’s shoes and feet, totally drives me insane.

One of the reasons I chose this new apartment, it has a shoe closet.

My idea of the perfect evening?

Lights are turned low. We are sitting on the couch, sipping wine, listening to soft mood setting music. We talk about poetry, life, books, and my favorite subject – YOU. My hands gently caress and massage your feet which rest in my lap.

Coming from New York, I met women all the time, on the bus, trains, stores, and streets. I guess you know by now, shyness is not one of my traits. So, I don’t use any of those internet meet sites.

But if I ever was to place a personal ad….

Single guy in Orlando area. Loves walks on the beach, shopping, coffee, sunsets, writing, and great conversation. Enjoys an occasional sangria, wine, or mojito. Other than blogging, not into social media. You: Should share my love for writing and poetry. Prefer if you were smarter than me. Don’t worry, this is a no brainer. (bad joke). Love for trying new restaurants required. Good sense of humor necessary! Oh, and you MUST LOVE SHOES.

  1. Ha! I love this post! Especially, what a personal post by you would be!! It made me laugh for a couple of reasons #1 My headline profile was “Stoplight Kisser, Seeking Kissee! Lucky for me, my wife is the curious type and responded! #2 Crack me up, because you would love my wife. When she had her masterbedroom remodeled she had to empty her closets and put them in the dining room. We had been together for about 2 months, I counted 125 pair of shoes!!! LOL!! Bravo!!

The reactiomn ended up being pretty sweet and supportive. So, now I don’t feel so bad.

Oh, you lucky dog. Your wife is a treasure. I would spoend hours shoe shopping with her. LOL . Lucky man.
Thanks for contriobuting to my post. Happy you liked it. And grateful for your beautiful support.

  2. I chuckled all the way through. Thank you! For me, I prefer bare feet. For many years I had ONE pair of shoes. Now I have a few. But they don’t qualify me as a shoe lover. Just different shoe needs I guess. 🙂

    1. Haha Oh, I completely understand the need for comfort. I have never understood the young ladies who walk in heels
all day long. The human foot was not made to walk in heels.

Thank you for reading my craziness. Always appreciate your thoughts.

  3. Hey, there is another one who loves shoes (and she’s single!) —- Celine Dion!!!! She used to live in Florida you know. And according to Carpool Karaoke I have watched, she has a monitor where she can choose which ones she’d like to wear. Because she has thousands of them, she probably could “filter” what type of shoe, what color, etc.
But it is very appealing that a man appreciates a woman’s “needs” – that she cannot have enough clothes, bags and shoes!!!!

    1. Celine Dion. LOL Amazing a woman can have so many shoes. She even surpasses my standrards and wishes.
      A monitor? LOL . Crazy

Women, shoes, and bags. A match made in heaven. I respect and adore it.

Thank you for sahring your thoughts. Mucho appreciated.
And apologies for my late response. My blurred vision limits my blogging time.
      Hope you are well.

  4. What a fun post Andrew! Love your honesty here. I also love the shoes in the pic, is there anything sexier than a pair of red heels? This made me wonder if you also love shoe shopping for yourself and if you own a crazy amount of shoes 🙂

    1. This comment is music to my ears. A woman wearing those red shoes deserves the world’s greatest foot massage.
      Oh man. Deep breath.

Just returned from my closet. I own about six pairs of shoes. Three dress and three comfort. Two pair of
sneakers for the gym. And two sandas for the beach.

But I love to go shopping with female friends and girlfriends (when I have them).

Thank you for contributing your thoughts to my post. So appreciate your words.
      Hope you are doing well.

      1. You’re welcome Andrew. Hope you’re doing well too! For some reason I was assuming you had a crazy collection of shoes? This is a totally reasonable amount. Leaving more room for a future love seems like a very smart thing to do. Your passion for shopping must make you that much more irresistible. The world’s greatest foot massage, sounds like the perfect place to start… 😉

  5. I find the older I get the more comfortable my shoes have to be. No more high heels for me. It’s boots or flats and the ever comfortable tennis shoe. How do you feel about fuzzy slippers? LOL!

    Like

    1. Fuzzy slippers. Would never complain about that. For me to see fuzzy slippers that means the lady is in my place.
Unless, she is throwing out the trash with fuzzy slippers, rollers in her hair, and an old bathrobe.

Of, course a woman has to wear comfortable shoes. I have always told my girlfriiends to take two pairs of shoes
when we go out dinging. Flats to be comfortable. Heels to put on in the car before she steps into the restaurant.
No one looks beautiful when they are uncomfortable.

Thanks for reading my craziness. Appreciate it.

  7. This made me laugh! This is so awesome, Drew. You would not be impressed with my obsession to be either barefoot or to wear flip-flops, which I’m sure gives me feet like a Hobbit. 😀
That being said, we’d have a great time hanging out as friends.

    1. I have no doubt we would have great times hanging out Alexis. And I guess I forgot to mention n my post,

  8. GOSH … I remember going to work in Manhattan from Brooklyn and standing while holding tightly to that pole in the middle of a train car trying not to fall off of my 3″ heels. Short heels for shoes now-a-days. LOL I used to love to purchase shoes in all colors and types. Once I arrived in Florida, flip flops, sandals and sneakers became the comfy shoes to wear.
My hubby had his own moving business and packed Imelda Marcos. Her shoe closets contained over 2000 shoes. A big money maker for him since she wanted them packed carefully which required many, many boxes. When you’re charging by the box …. SHOES … can be quite a treasure. VIVA EL ZAPATO …!!!
Fun post …. have a wonderful weekend … Isadora 😎

    1. This comment was so perfect andf made me laugh so much.

Imelda Marcos was insane. Even I don’t think a woman needs that many shoes. With my old girlfriends
I always suggested they carry flats (I usually carried them in my briefcase) so she could change.
High heels are for restaurants, bars, and nights out. I guess work too. Definitely, not for waling or
      for trains.

Stay in your comfy shoes. I bet your feet look great in them.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Appreciate your kindness and support.

  11. And don’t expect you’d be short of responses!

Just FYI, I’m french living in Korea and EVERY apartment here has an enormous shoe cupboard by the front door. No-one wears shoes in the home, so it makes sense, but it’s so useful can’t think why this idea hasn’t caught elsewhere.

    Like

    1. Oh, you are so correct. I have a load of comments backed up in my dashboard. Obviously, shoes are a popular subject with
women. Haha . That is actually a great idea. A shoe cupboard as you enter the home. No need to track dirt or mud into
the house. The idea should catch on. If I ever decide to build a home, I think I would want that.

Thank you for stopping by to read and share your thoughts and expeiences. I appreciate your kindness and support.
      Thank you.

  12. Hi Drew! That’s an interesting post you have here. It was entertaining for sure. I used to have some fun shoes until I hurt my back, but I never collected that many. Hmm, I’m better now, but wouldn’t wear heels – though they would be fun. I’m a new mom, so maybe practical shoes, lol. Now for the storage: what to do?. Conversation is easier in person than on the internet. Nothing like poetry…

Be wonderful for you to meet your shoe-wearing lovely to fill that shoe closet of yours.

    1. Hey, hope you are well.
Entertaining…lol. Wasn’t easy to make this confession. Really put myself out there. You need practical shoes.
No way to be a mom on heels. And if you have back problems it really makes no sense.

I guess you could use the storage for bags? LOL I am assuming you like bags.

Cinderella will eventually appear. No worries about that.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on my bold crazy post.
And apologies for my late response. My blurred vsion limits my bloggin time.

I’m sorry to hear about your blurred vision. I did read about it in another blog of yours and I hope it resolves quickly for you.

I didn’t mean to make light of your bold confession here by calling it entertaining. I hope you realize that! I was enjoying your way of communicating.

No worries about a late response! We are all well here and have been having a full time in life.

a woman with two hundred pairs of shoes.

  15. Never being a fashionista I find shoes serviceable. But I know of many women who go gaga over shoes. Didn’t that famous leader (cough, cough) have a wife who had a bazillion pair of shoes? But then I was also watching a home show where ‘they’ were redoing a home and had to have a closet for the husband’s shoe collection (no, no heels).

And I even was put to service for a shoe hog…I’d gone to Italy, took one of ‘their’ shoes with me. Found a shoe maker and managed to convey I needed a red leather pair to take home as a gift to match the size of the shoe I brought! Hope that made you smile 😀

    1. Imelda Marcos has thousands of shoes. A bit too much even by my standards. LOL
A husband’s shoe collection. I don’t go there. That is funny and perhaps a bit weird.

Definitely made me smile. A good shoe tale will always do that. And comfy shoes are good.
Feet need to be treasured and comforted.
