i will love you

i will love you

i will love you
in the silence of your reflection
in the echoes of your pain
with the calm of the mountains
with a passion bordering
sound mind and insane
for I have fallen like a sunset
who blushes as he nears the horizon
with feelings he can’t convey
and should you never be mine
i will remind you of the promise
of tomorrow’s dawn
as i love you
anyway

  1. Honestly, Lonely, your writing excels with each poem.
The cadence of the words as they are heard and felt, the rhythm of heart and finality in your message.
I hope you are doing as well as your poetry, and that you will soon get to go home.

Will you be doing an update, anon?

    1. Smiling. I am scheduled to be on one of the first flioghts out of the country on May 1st. Which is Friday of next week. If all goes well I will be home that evening. Thanks for your wishes and concern.

I have been struggling with low blood pressure now. I am resting a lot to make sure I am ready for what is to come.
Perhaps, I need to be rescued by one of your heroines like Blue Holly. lol

Your praise leaves me speechless. What a gorgeous thing to say. I am really touched by your compliments and appreciation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am grateful for eveything.

  2. I had to read this one a few times to really understand it. Again, sad but beautifully expressed. These lines were my favorite.
“for I have fallen like a sunset
who blushes as he nears the horizon
    with feelings he can’t convey
and should you never be mine
i will remind you of the promise
    of tomorrow’s dawn…”
Loving someone that likely will never be yours…oh the heartache! I don’t know which is worse, having them completely shut the door on you so there is no hope or having them keep the door open a sliver so there’s a possibility of something in the future. One seems to drag on in never-ending confusion of “does he or doesn’t he?” While the other breaks your heart. I guess it’s best to have the door closed as that way you can finally heal.
Sorry, went off on a tangent there. Anyway, another lovely poem Drew. Hugs and kisses my friend xoxoxo

      1. I love poetry, and it’s also wonderful, beautiful to see people writing things like this. Poetry about love comes from the heart.
Do you know any Portuguese Poet?

I suggest to you two of my favorites:

        Florbela Espanca and Miguel Torga.

        I hope you enjoy.

        Take care of yourself also.

              1. Can we shift here the perspective?

What if I say to you that you are not alone, because you still have who you are?

What if I say to you loneliness is the most important path to achieve true love?

Besides that, look at your poetry as a vehicle to materialize the things your soul desire in your life.

                have one wonderful day.

                1. Loneliness is a path to finding true love. I do believe that.
And I do see my poetry as a vehicle to getting the things I dream of in life.
I hope it eventually will lead me to publication of my novels
and hopefully, someday fingind a special woman.

                  Thank you so much Alexandra.
May you ansd everyone in your heart be safe and healthy.

                    1. I don’t discuss my age or identity on the blog.
                      Sorry

I am mature, but still young.
Regarding love (which I do hope to find).
I am not currently looking for it. I will let it come to me.
I am too engrossed in my poetry and editing my novels to worry about that now.
But I will continue to write poetry of love.

                      No, I underestand. Don’t worry.

To be honest, I get a lot of that question, requests for photos, my full name, even my address.

So, I didn’t take it in the wrong way.

Alexandra, seriously, don’t worry about it.

I am grateful to have this chance to chat and get to know you.

I think that happens because of the intensity of your writing and the kindly way you treat your readers, which is amazing. Besides that, they might want to know if you have good muscles, tall, blonde, and so on goes the list.

  3. This reminded me of a Star Trek episode where the Sun and Moon (in ancient forms… one took over Mr. Data) tried to stop their constant chase. In the end Sun resolved that the chase was the natural order of things.

There’s a flow to everything you write. The words always give the reader a visual
image of what you’re trying to convey. Well done, as always …
I hope your health improves once you’re back in the states. There are many very well known
places in Florida for expert care including Moffit in Tampa. Do research all of your options.

  6. Your rhythm in my humble opinion, your imagery one line leading to the next leaving me in breathless anticipation, hard to believe yet improves every time I read your latest. Drew, I don’t know how you are doing what you are doing, but your mastery of what you do has excelled and gone far beyond anything you probably ever dreamed. BRAVO!! xo

      1. Andrew, I hope you are feeling better now. My reply last night(it was 2.00 a.m then!) may have seemed a bit inadequate but I was overwhelmed by your words. It is amazing how our words can touch another. I will always treasure that comment of yours (not that I don’t treasure others)
i agree, every man should say these things but most don’t. But you said it most beautifully. Take care of your heart and smile please. I am always here for you and I mean it.
By the way, being last one to comment also has its perks!

So let me tell you a secret…all of us on WP are conspiring with the stars to align in favour of you and moving the might earth to be able to read more of your gorgeous verses. Did I ever tell you I am selfish? See, now you have the proof. πŸ˜‚
I hope you wake up smiling from your surgery and when you see this message, you laugh! But be careful, dear. Don’t strain yourself.

  7. A true love poem from a true “bard of love”. This is what love is – to love despite all odds or hope of union, beyond material, earthy desires, selfless and unconditional.
    ”Β I have fallen like a sunset
who blushes as he nears the horizon”

Drew, I’m going to ‘save’ this to read to the man I love – a poem from the lonely author – one of the greatest of my time.
