Cleansed

unnamed (1)

Somme-in a little different.

Cleansed

.

It was a lucid afternoon
Straight out of my dreams
We laughed and loved
Feasting on Pepsi, popcorn, and poetry

Drawing her a warm bath
I attempted to read Neruda
Yet she had other plans

Reciting pink verses
Red rhymes cascaded from her glossy lips
Like slippery suds of passion
Soaking me with love

Words floated like translucent bubbles
Washing my flaws, fears, and pain
Rinsing my body, purifying my heart
Baptizing my soul

My beloved took a bath
It was me that she cleansed.

In Another Place and Time (A Tale of Love Reincarnated)

In Another Place and Time
(A Tale of Love Reincarnated)

.

Our souls met under the hot sun
In the land of the Pharaohs
The magic of a first kiss under a date palm
Lasted for quite a while
Until we made moonlight love
On the banks of the mighty Nile

Time passed before we were one again
Me the glorious warrior standing
Alongside my controlling Spartan wife
While you tended my wounds which often bled
I boasted of victories on the battlefield
Yet every night it was you who conquered me in bed

Years had passed when you died in my arms
Succumbing to the mysterious Black Death
Then came my arrival to the New World
Greeted by your warm Native American smile
Two hundred years later you became my loving slave
And me the master you beguiled

After centuries of living and dying beside you
I search for my twin flame
In hopes of finding you once more
For souls travel without rhythm or rhyme
And I cling to the desperate hope of loving you
In another place and time.

Forgive Me Father

cemetery-1500942_960_720

This is dedicated to all my haters.  Please watch your step as you form an orderly line.  You truly are number one.   (Wanna guess which finger I’m extending?)

.

Forgive Me Father

.

Forgive me Father
For I am guilty of love
Come and be the judge
Like your modern day preachers
Orating sermons of black sludge

Little green skinned disciples
Claws preaching on holy keyboards
Judging all of your children
Clinging tight to Bibles
As they cast the first stone

Father you always taught love
Now sacred hypocrites spew hatred at the pulpit
For when they are not walking on water
These predators must be
Slithering on hallowed ground

Father, my debauchery warrants punishment
Banish me to Satan’s dark inferno
While I’m there, what should I tell
All of these judgmental disciples
When I bump into them in the bowels of hell.

Karma is a bitch.

Miss Understood

1 (2)

This is for you Nandita.

Miss Understood

.

Pearls of white tears
moisten her tender cheeks
cascading onto dark pages
penning words of life and love.
Mirrors fail to reflect her light
as the world responds to her affections
with green venom and thunderbolts.
Bent but never broken
she remains a mystery for so many
even as she fails to decode herself.
Unable to decipher her puzzles
she is forever trapped in a poetic web
entangled in an endless soliloquy.
Bleeding love and empathy onto pages
‘til she can barely live or write
or love herself anymore.
Seeking refuge in her shadow
and behind a broken smile
she longs to hurt no more.
She questions destiny
will her words, her love, her life, herself
ever be an enigma finally resolved.
Or will she forever be
Miss Understood.
My indigo child of love

we are one

Sexy lovers in bedroom

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming (yes you guessed it) – LOVE.

we are one

.

Please don’t ask me what are we
For the tugging of your heart is my gravity
You are gentle wind chimes ringing in my soul
as our broken pieces join to make us whole

You are the raging percussion inside my chest
I am the ebb and flow of your warm breast
We are the scorching heat of a solar flare
a refreshing breeze running through your hair

We are twin flames burning in sweet harmony
illuminating together cause we fit so perfectly
We are summer just before autumn has begun
My love we are and always will be one.

Before I Die

New Believer Salvation(1)Before I Die

.

Before I die

I will write a song

so you can hear how love should sing.

Take a selfie in clown face

to remind you laughter heals everything.

Give you all of the possessions I ever lost

because appreciation is the key.

On my final day

in hopes that you remember me forever

I will plant a tree.

.

This poem was inspired by a Martin Luther quote. Although not found in his collected works, variations of this quote are attributed to him.

“Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree.”       – Martin Luther

Misplaced Laughter and Broken Dreams

Misplaced Laughter and Broken Dreams

.

After a night of fighting demons

she awakens to a lonesome world of

misplaced laughter and broken dreams.

.

A melancholy stranger who has forgotten

how to live occupies her fractured mirror,

an unwanted spirit in a reoccurring theme.

.

She inhales oxygen and exhales pain as she

lives her lonely life with a nostalgic longing

to rediscover the happy girl she used to be.

.

she is love

4d8613275e7b376d5ebc194fa3e70bc6

she is love

She is a goddess

reigning over poetry and prose.

The divinity of her words

written by a siren so sublime,

inspires heaven and earth

my body and soul.

She is all of that,

and so much more.

Befitting of one description,

she is love.

Huddled Inside My Soul

I-Feel-Lonely

Huddled Inside My Soul

Come to me

On your darkest day.

as shadows consume your light,

as tears douse the overwhelming fires

choking you in their solitary smoke.

Come to me

when your heart falls into the abyss

drowning in dark seas of solitude,

in a world eclipsed by loneliness.

Come to me

I can make you whole,

basking in my light,

once you are

huddled inside my soul.

The Beautiful Redhead

The Beautiful Redhead

She wore her red hair

like a fragrance by Chanel.

An elegant tapestry of

silky curls and waves.

The ebb and flow of her locks

calming like a starry night.

If she only knew

what I would give

to caress her hair tonight.
