The Sorcerer’s Wife (100 Word Love Story)

cg-girl-2880x1800-fantasy-girl-artwork-4k-2844

This is a little throw back to my fiction roots.  A short story originally, written in 2016, I now converted it into 100 words.

.

The Sorcerer’s Wife

.

Our writhing bodies glistened with perspiration when he stormed in.

Most betrayed husbands would savagely behead the passionate lovers. Not the evil Sorcerer, he denied me the most exquisite finale of all; death in her loving arms.

He tossed a mystic powder. A purple dust cloud transformed Isabella into a doe.

Next, the Sorcerer converted me into the most loathsome predator; the hyena.

Now, I watch her grazing in the ominous forest; moving with a familiar grace.

For years I coveted beautiful Isabella.

Oh, the bittersweet irony.

As foul spittle drips from my hungry fangs, I crave her even more.

Your Love Always Surrounds Me

IMG-6853

In a recent conversations with my lovely friend writer Sarah Potter I found myself challenged to write a poem mixing nature with love.  Here is my submission.  If you would like to read Sarah Potter’s beautiful words you can find her at Sarah Potter Writes.

Your Love Always Surrounds Me

.

Alone on a park bench
A kaleidoscope of butterflies perched on me
colouring my loneliness
describing your love so tenderly
The sun blushed on me
A soft breeze grazed my trembling cheek
The butterflies smiled at me
These are the signs of your love I so seek
They led me to an oak
It stood tall and firm with leaves of green
Then a flower in bloom
Akin to the beauty of a love so serene
Waterfalls speak of you
You caress me like drops of falling rain
Drench yourself in her love
Their sweet words slowly eased my pain
They gave me much to take
No matter where I go or what I see
Now, I am never alone
Cause your love always surrounds me

Hola People. No, I don’t post on Friday, but I had to make an exception today. I was challenged and inspired to do my first collaboration. So, here I am bursting at the seams. (Probably need to get out of that beach chair).

Lonely Author’s first collaboration with Nandita of A Tangle Of Weeds.

Perdido

.

She undresses me with her words
baring my naked soul for all to read
Her poetry brought us closer together
as the love in her voice tore me apart

.

He clothes me with his words so pure
As I bare myself to him when we’re alone
His words of love pulls me to him
To where he is, my soul has already flown
 .
She used my flesh as her canvas
painting words of love all over me
every sweet stroke so enticing
she left me trembling at her feet
.
He planted his poetry in my heart
feeling my skin like a sightless man
He read me like he was reading Braille
He left me sighing in his eyes again
 .
She unfolded my origami heart
with whispers from her soul
now there is no escaping the reality
lost in her words I found love
.
He unraveled my many layers
with the gentlest touch
made me fall in love so tenderly
Now in his abyss, I’m so lost.
