Perdido

couple in rain

Hola People. No, I don’t post on Friday, but I had to make an exception today. I was challenged and inspired to do my first collaboration. So, here I am bursting at the seams. (Probably need to get out of that beach chair).

Lonely Author’s first collaboration with Nandita of A Tangle Of Weeds.

Perdido

.

She undresses me with her words
baring my naked soul for all to read
Her poetry brought us closer together
as the love in her voice tore me apart

.

He clothes me with his words so pure
As I bare myself to him when we’re alone
His words of love pulls me to him
To where he is, my soul has already flown
 .
She used my flesh as her canvas
painting words of love all over me
every sweet stroke so enticing
she left me trembling at her feet
.
He planted his poetry in my heart
feeling my skin like a sightless man
He read me like he was reading Braille
He left me sighing in his eyes again
 .
She unfolded my origami heart
with whispers from her soul
now there is no escaping the reality
lost in her words I found love
.
He unraveled my many layers
with the gentlest touch
made me fall in love so tenderly
Now in his abyss, I’m so lost.

Back To You

lonely-girl-wait-on-the-road-miss-youBack To You

My shoes are worn
cause I have walked
through every maze
in search of love.
I am a proud knight
riding lonely carousels
searching for a lady
while fighting windmills.
Dead ends always greet me
as I move in no direction.
I missed you here
nostalgic over there,
a journey never ends
when shortcuts don’t exist,
I strolled down winding roads
traveled both sides of the fork
without the use of a compass
I found out I was never lost.
Cause it doesn’t matter what road I take
when every path leads me back to you

A throwback for my newer Followers. Have a wonderful day full of sunshine and smiles.

Remembering To Forget You

Remembering To Forget You

Last month my nostalgic
heart made me recall the
happiness I thought would
never end.

Last week I trembled at the
bittersweet recollection of
your fingertips stroking my
bare chest.

Last night I sighed when the
unused pillow in my lonely
bed reminded me of your
intoxicating scent.

Last chance to recover from
this painful loss. Tomorrow
I’ll try my best to remember
to forget you

Yesterday, while reviewing my earlier posts, I found inspiration in one of the few poems that I truly love. Never Meant For You

Disclaimer: This is pure fiction.  Thankfully, Allie is still by my side.

Lost

night streets

Lost

He wore his five o’clock shadow
like fine cologne
roaming crowded city streets
yet so alone

He strolled boulevards and alleys of
a loveless maze
happy ending became dead ends
along the way

He was a fighter, a rebel, a writer of
words so blue
he was a wanderer forever lost ’til
he found you
