Earlier today, I woke up searching for a good morning message from my Baby. When I found none, I wrote her a few separate messages. Hours passed with no reply. This little thing was born during those moments of worry.
Silence Screamed Your Name
Today I awoke
when silence screamed your name.
Now, I lay here in fear
of never having you,
and distraught that
do the same.
Please, don’t do that to me again Baby.

The Space Between You and Me
In my mind I watch you standing on the
far side of a crowded room;
a universe away.
Later tonight I will watch the stars
outside my window;
light years beyond my reach.
That is when I’ll long to hold you and whisper,
there is no distance as infinite as
the space between you and me.

Black sands of time rain upon me
Entombing me in a powdered cloud
Each grain marks the sad moments
Where we’re denied our love avowed
Another hour that I didn’t hold you
Sixty minutes I wish to never repeat
For if I could I’d renounce paradise
Just so I could die at your pretty feet
Another day passes without your love
And here I am longing to belong to you
As my cold calendar continues taunting
Asking me the date I only wish I knew
There is no romance in lonely sunsets
Nor in thinking of the beloved you miss
As I watch the sun slowly descending
Your trembling lips remain unkissed

Even When I’m Not In Sight
On your quiet moments gray
I will write you a lovely verse
To place a smile upon your face
When you need a calming ear
Remember I’m always listening
Even when I’m not here
On the nights you’re feeling cold
Wrap yourself in our love embers
Let my warmth bring heated glow
When you’re feeling alone tonight
Remember I’m always with you
Even when I’m not in sight

Yesterday, I read an incredible poem, that started a painful conversation with its author. I was so affected by our chat, I sighed off of my blog earlier than usual.
Sorry, my writing doesn’t match her power or emotion. This humble poem is dedicated to everyone who lost a loved one.
Chrissy this is for you.
One More Time
My life without you
was never meant to be
a planet so barren
it’s lacking symmetry
my arms yearning
to hold you tight
dreaming of the day
I find you in the light
you will never know
my life devoid of rhyme
Or the treasures I would give
to hold you one more time
