Lonely Author: curfews, coffee, and an update

Lonely Author: curfews, coffee, and an update

During the first three weeks of my vacation, I was feeling well, getting stronger everyday. My heart procedure was set for Tuesday, April 14th.

Then, last Monday hit me like a storm. The hours of feeling dizzy, the sensation of my brain throbbing inside my skull, the additional blurred vision, and naseau had all returned.

For five days last week I dealt with this setback.

My blood pressure which during the holidays was reaching for the sky, now reached new lows. My nurse Elena described some of my readings as dangerously low.

On an island isolated from the coronavirus fears infecting the rest of the world, panic broke out after the President’s press conference. Business quickly shut down. Parts of the island are under curfew. A military presence can be felt.

With my sudden change in health, we called Jetblue to return to the United States, but the airports have been locked down. I found myself trapped.

Via speaker phone, my doctor suggested I change the dosage of one of my pills. I started taking a half pill (yesterday). This morning I am feeling a little better. The dizziness almost totally went away. There are still occasional spells.

On Friday to confront my super low blood pressure, Elena drove me into town to sit down and drink a cappuccino. After four months of no coffee it was heavenly.

Airports are scheduled to reopen Saturday, April 4th, the same day of my return flight.

Blogging? I will take this day to day.

Tomorrow, Monday, MAY BE my last post for a few months. I hope everyone drops by to read about something that happened to me last Saturday before my dizzy spells returned.

No poetry.

Today, I see my cardiologist to discuss my latest test results. My blood pressure has been steady. I hope last weeks tests will prompt a change in the medications I have been prescribed. The severe headaches make blogging (staring at a screen) and life unbearable.

Two weeks ago, one of my six pills was eliminated. Since then, the dizzy spells have ceased. I hope another reduction of pills will get me back to my old self.

Tomorrow, I will post an update on today’s appointment.

After the reduction of that one pill, the dizzy spells have gone away. My doctor approved a short weekend trip to the Dominican Republic to baptize little Axel. My Thursday post, like today’s and Tuesday’s posts, will be comments closed in order that I work on the backlog (700+) of comments awaiting a response.

Thank you for all of your support. It kept me going when I was ready to give up.

Have a beautiful week.

Lonely Author

Yes, that is my new blogging corner.

No poem today. I wanted to let everyone know I am settled into my new home. Since I am catching up with blog reading and replying to comments, I won’t post a poem today to speed up my process.

Also, would like to announce Monday and Thursday will continue to be my days for posting poetry, but I will occasionally add a third (commentless) post in the week to post photos or share random thoughts.

And since I am often asked about what inspires me, I may be posting musical posts or videos with my poems. Music has always been my companion during lonely times.

Have a gorgeous week. Be back on Thursday with a new poem.

WordPress won’t let me comment on your posts.

WordPress has done it again.  Now, I can’t leave comments on your posts.  After leaving several dozen messages, I realize they aren’t being published to your blogs.

Please someone lie to me and tell me one day WordPress will get their stuff together.

Please feel free to imagine I left one of my Chimpisms on your blog page.

This is sooo frustrating.

Lonely Author Sees No Evil

The Chimp is not seeing much of anything else either (unfortunately, that includes Allie’s new lingerie.  Ugh).  For that reason I have been slow answering my posts and keeping up with my blog reading.

I had an accident on Sunday night that aggravated my blurred vision. It appears there will be another surgery on my right eye in the horizon.

During the next few weeks my reading will be limited.  My wife and doctors know I would get separation anxiety if I didn’t read your posts.

Thank you for your patience.

Keep smiling.

Keep writing.

Be well.

Lonely Author: It’s Not Deja Me, It’s Deja Vu

hqdefault

Yes, there was Lonely Author on his best behavior (well as best as it could be) minding his own business, when he suddenly discovered something disturbing. HUNDREDS OF UNANSWERED COMMENTS.

First, the Chimp would like to assure everyone he would never ignore anyone’s comments. Even negative comments would prompt some kind of Chimpism.

Today, my cell phone and WP dashboard have HUNDREDS of unanswered comments that weren’t there last night when I slipped into my sexiest Batman pajamas (yeah the one that has that convenient flap in the back).  I was certain I had already answered some of these comments.  Others appeared before my eyes for the very first time.

Over the next couple of days, the Chimp will try to clean this up. Sorry, for the delay in any responses.

If you receive a reply to a message I already responded to, well, think of it as a duplicate treat.  Hey, I couldn’t think of a better person to deja vu with???

Thank you for understanding.

I am the Lonely Author and I endorse this message.

Lonely Author Update

juggling chimp

In February I announced I would be blogging less and for the most part, I have taken the weekends off.  Yet, I still do not have enough time to work on my queries to literary agents, other writing projects, and life.

Lonely Authot doesn’t need to research Chimpopedia to know it is time to make further cuts in my blogging time.  I will still be reading blog posts, but not on a daily basis (and definitely not on weekends). Should anyone have a post they really want me to read or comment on, please feel free to ping me.  (Yeah, I like being pinged baby).

I would like to thank my good friend Diane LadiesWhoLunchReviews . She has sent me so many links to writing contests and other potential suitors for my writing.  Whenever you get the chance, stop by her blog.  She is a  kind hearted person who will always put a smile on your face.

My next post will be on Tuesday.  I am thinking of posting 3 times a week (between Tuesday and Friday).

Should you need to reach me write to thelonelyauthorblog@gmail.com.  I will try to be much quicker with my response times.  I currently have several outstanding emails I must respond to.

You can also reach me at twitter @LonelyAuthorNY

Have a wonderful weekend.

Keep smiling.

Keep writing.
