The Man Behind The Blog

The Man Behind The Blog

Pain goes in, love comes out.

A childhood watching the abuse of my mother, followed by my father dying in my arms, then, years later, repeating the experience with my mother. Not long ago, I fell down a flight of stairs, got up and walked away. Excruciating pain has been my loyal companion ever since.

After suffering so much pain and loss, many would turn to alcohol or drugs, not me, I refuse to let it define me.

Hola, my name is Andrew, but you can call me Drew. Or one of my many blogging nicknames; Lonely Author, LA, TLAB, Vagabond Poet, El Vagabondo, Lonely, and the Beach Boy.

I am passionate about many things; being positive, life, love, music, poetry, writing, and then there’s my greatest passion of all – women.

My heart is filled with love and admiration for all women. I adore their laughter, playfulness, even their head scratching prerogative to change their mind. Love to see them in beautiful dresses, jeans, and barefoot. I am attracted to their curves, fascinated by their mystery, inspired by their scent and femininity.

I am a single guy, a dreamer, a poet, an ex-New Yorker living in Orlando, Florida. Hoping to get my three manuscripts published and two screenplays to the big screen, and who knows, maybe I will find love along the way….

      1. Thank you sweet Drew. I’m well friend. Still struggling to find steady work and an income of any kind (haven’t had any since the middle of March), but I have lots of interviews, so I know the right one will come soon. 🙂 In the meantime, I have wonderful family, friends and my faith to keep me going. But my health is good and I’m enjoying life! Now we just need to get you all fixed up permanently so you can get back to enjoying your life! My prayers will continue for you. Love you my friend xoxoxoxo

  2. Please be ok 🙏 thinking of you – you better be! My prayers are with you!

And New Yorker huh? Nice! Are you a Yankee? When baseball comes back – my Sox will take em down again 😘✌️Yeah I do like to start shit lol … my family from Massachusetts – so you know … that rivalry lol ❤️ It’s endearing right? Lol

I once knew a New Yorker ❤️ Oh my god! He was awesome … I loved the way he talked and he was a former New Yorker construction worker – so he was hilarious … telling me I could stop traffic and you know really pouring it on lol … he used to pretend to have a heart attack when I came near him cause would say my beauty was killing him, his heart couldn’t take it lol .😄🙄 he was funny. ❤️ New Yorkers – quite charming.

Will be thinking of you – hurry back!

    1. What a beautiful message.
Your words and prayers are so appreciated. They touched my heart and soul.
      Yes, Yankees all the way.
LOL. The rivalry. I understand. Boston sucks. LOL

New York construction worker. I can imagine how he tawked.

Thank you for this amazing message. The smiles and laughs are good for my heart.

      1. Ya know they say laughter is the best medicine right? Keep doing that… even when my Sox’s take your Yankees down lol ✌️

Funny how the best teams come from the Northeast huh? Lol … I could be biased but whatever ✌️😘

What are you doing in Florida?? All those northeast people retire to Florida lol

I used to live in Winter Springs, for a little bit, back in the 80’s when I was a kid✌️ I love Sanibel Island 🌴

I see you must be spoiled by weather like me? I am in California now… we all escape 😄😄😄 ✌️

It’s funny my friends HERE in California always say… “ohhh I would love it to snow or be cold like New England 🤨

I give them a week of the bone chill 😄- these California people lol 😘✌️

        You take care 🙏 💕

          1. Yeah Winter Springs is a suburb of Orlando – “Tuskawilla” was our development😄 …it’s very different now than it was back in the 80’s … when I was there – nothing was really built up yet, was just starting to.

You look for restaurants – I look for weather 😄😄✌️

That humidity – would kill me!! Lol (not to mention – I don’t like those palmetto bugs 😝) oh and we used to have cottonmouth snakes 🐍 😝

I do miss the Gulf of Mexico though … oh that water was always soooo warm ❤️

Over here, the Pacific is just like the Atlantic lol – freezing 🤨

Interesting little tid bit – not really related but whatever – is Florida …

When I was in the 3rd grade there… we took a field trip to St Augustine lol (which holds the title for oldest city in the United States)

They gave us all little Dixie cups from the Fountain of Youth lol… sometimes when people mistake me for younger – I tell that story 😄… I should have asked for a few gallons to take home!

We used to go to Flagler beach a lot 🏖 on the weekends … Cape Canaveral – which has to just be soooooo built up now!! We used to fish at Cape Canaveral – I think I have a photo – not that you could tell the area now? I will have to look and post if I find. Keep your eyes open lol ✌️😄

      1. Lovely to hear from you, Andrew. Like people in other countries, we, too, live in uncertainties. I’m fine, reading extensively. When feeling trapped/lost in our sometimes confusing world, I always turn to books. I hope you’re happy and well, with all my heart. Take care ❤️

  3. Wonderful introduction of yourself. I think that I will call you Andrés. The sound has much more flare to it. I think you have found love already, it’s all around you and yet I know the love you speak of. Best wishes for what’s to come. Thoughts and prayers going your way.

  11. Dear Drew,
This is such sorrowful news about your health. I remember your journey of getting to this point.
All of the delays because of COVID 19, the tests, your prior hospitalization, and the waiting.
You have an advantage that you are young. You will be well again. You are fighting and doing
for your health and that’s the main thing. You have a wonderful group of friends in the blog world
who will be praying while sending healing thoughts. Your written words are too important for us not
to be able to continue reading them. You still have a great deal to contribute to the world. Some day,
I hope to be able to say I was a friend of this famous writer. You’re in good hands with your doctors.
Have faith that you are going to come out of this stronger, more energetic, and with hope of a bright
future. May God keep you in his Blessed hands during your surgery and recovery. 🙏🙏🙏
    With Great Admiration,
    Isadora 😎 🤗
ps: My hubby had the Widow Maker this past April.
I have had heart surgery for blockages. Since only the good die young, your welcome to join our group. LOLOL

  15. Hi Drew. I’m reaching out here to let you know I’m thinking of you and hoping your health continues to improve. Maybe you’re having so much fun, you’re playing at the beach with the woman of your dreams and have no time for blogging! Curious minds do wonder why there have been several emails sent with new poems like today’s eternal ballet. Yet when I go the your blog, the page is missing. I hope you and your blog are well. Hugs my friend.

      1. I am as good as everyone else right now. Bored, depressed and a little anxious. There is no way to anticipate a Pandemic and it’s effect on society. Looking forward to the vaccine!!! Keep well.

  16. Hi Drew. I hope your YouTube adventure is going well. I’m trying to reduce and limit my social media these days and have considered stopping Facebook and Instagram. All this to say, I probably won’t visit much on YT but I hope it’s a fun and fulfilling venue for you. take care, Brad

            1. I am transitioning to youtube
at least that is my plan.
I will still read and comment on blogs
but my posts will be on YT

I will be reciting my poems in the first minute so people aren’t forced to listen to a five minute video. they can listen to the first minute then like and comment.

I think vlogging will eventually replace blogging
