You can’t appreciate the light
If you never embraced the dark
No matter how bad things get
Happiness may be a step away
You don’t have to be a dead
Philosopher to understand
one simple truth of life
The sun shines bright for everyone
but on every life
A little rain must fall

      1. You are welcome. I am glad to have been able to share this gem with so many others. The analogy of the rain is something I connect with. And if we do not appreciate the rain, we miss out on what it can gift us with. It is a brilliant message to share and learn. So, really, thank YOU for writing it!

      1. I was thinking of the ‘spiritual rain in Joel I think. Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord, your God; for He gives you the former or early rain in just measure and in righteousness, and He causes to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, as before. (Joel 2:23).
        That rain you talking about? though that I know is beneficial not only for the plants the birds and me? Not sure I want to dance in it at my age! lol lov u!

                    3. I only have started blooming in the last few months. Somehow? Nothing this significant happen in my journey until I reached the beginning of my 7th year in the wilderness of people. Here? for six years? Father confronted and judged me face to face. Then? At the beginning of the 7th year He led me to blogging? That’s how those 100 came about. I do have nearly 1000 likes to my surprise! Everyday: I get likes and new followers. Not many but steady. Father is reaching all one by one–just like He told us He would do by the ancient prophets. So? You are one reached. Then through you? Others will be reached. It’s written,
                      Jeremiah 3:14-15
                      Return, O faithless children of the whole twelve tribes, says the Master, for I am YHWH and Master and Husband to you, and I will take you not as a nation, but individually–one from a city and two from a tribal family–and I will bring you to Zion. Luke 15:20-22
                      And I will give you spiritual shepherds after My own heart in the final time, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding and judgment.

      1. Yes I completely agree attitude is everything and a positive one at that. Your post is great because it also shows we’re not alone and everyone goes through difficult times, I did as well and sometimes it takes a big trauma to help realign our lives so we can see the silver lining, learn from it by growing and then start anew. I’ve hit the reset button on my life and it’s getting better. I’m glad you are all good now.

        1. Smiling. You are one of the few people who didn’t focus on the rain aspect of this poem. I agree with you. Attitude is everything. When something bad occurs, I am accepting of it and better prepared to better cope with it. And I realize the storm will not last forever. Love when you stop by with your positive messages.         1. She is an amazing poetess. One of my favorites. Light will always return. No matter how dark things become, one must maintain faith that light will come back. We must learn to dance in the rain. We can learn so much from the bad moments in life. THank you for your comments.

  30. “Baby, the rain must fall” but they didn’t say a damn thing about drowning in it. LOL
    Actually, I’m one of those rare people who love rain. I used to think it was angel tears, falling to earth to water Gods’ flowers.

  31. True dat. If you didn’t have rain, you wouldn’t be able to appreciate sunshine. There would be no rainbows. You wouldn’t know what it feels to dance in the rain. You wouldn’t be able to mask your tears in the rain. Rain is a blessing. Beautiful words, Andrew.

  39. Late to the party…. Again! Yes, what everyone said is true. And frankly, sometimes I love a rainy day, pull the blankets around me and dream. Maybe sketch or write. Read a good book. Yeah, rain she ain’t so bad…
