While today is my three year blog anniversary, multiple eyes surgeries forced me on a long hiatus and limited my actual blogging time to barely one and a half years.
As my long time followers already know, I suffer from permanent blurred vision. My eyesight may be blurred, but I can clearly see that I wouldn’t be here without your wonderful support.
To celebrate (perhaps amuse is a better word) I have included the first poem I ever wrote in my life. On November 3, 2015, I penned and posted this poem (and image). It was my first crude attempt at writing poetry.
.
for so long
.
for so long
I adored her through my window
far too long
I suffered her silent tears
so unloved
this siren breathes unappreciated
too unloved
retreating in the shadows of her fears
for so long
he abused her with indifference
far too long
drowning in her love in vain
so unloved
if only she would let me adore her
too unloved
my tears can wash away her pain
.
.
Please, excuse my slow return from vacation. The change in climate from Cancun to New York has me sick as a dog. I will be responding to your comments and reading your wonderful posts.
This is my first day here. The first post that I am reading is yours and what a beautiful artist you are.

Get well soon. I wish you excellent health. As someone who has been in pain most of her life, I understand how frustrating it is when your health prevents you from achieving your life goals. Just living out your daily normal routine becomes a chore.

For So Long is a wonderful piece! Happy Anniversary!
I didn’t know about your eyes. I had to take the summer off, for eye surgeries. I was blind in my left eye for several days… then shadows came in. However, now with glasses I can see quite well, but not allowed to drive, yet.
Sounds like you’ve had a much harder time of it. Nonetheless, your writing is fabulous. Hope you are over the cold! Resa ❦❦

Thank you for your kind words. By now you know I have been a blog bvum.
Sorry for the delay in my response.
Sorry to hear about your own eye woes. You may not think so, but it could have affected us as well.
Who would have found all this wonderful grafitti art. That looks like a typo, but my eyes are so blurred I am not too sure.
Either way, thanks

Ah, a blog bvum! So, you’ve been away to ancient Rome. Yes, I love the street art, and my Art Gowns. Eyes are needed for both.
I wish you could see better. However, it does not seem to affect the beauty of your poetry, or your appreciation of the artistic endeavours of others.

Vero Beach was a retirement and resort community. ( No, I wasn’t a retiree, haha) my husband’s job just happened to have been based there. It was a high tech publishing company that’s long been sold.) Beautiful, clean beaches with limited industry, mostly financial or legal services and restaurants. Good place to relax and write. Had a bad hurricane mess a couple of years ago. It’s an hour south of Melbourne. It’s on the Atlantic Coast.

Thanks for the info. I will check it out. I am a young retiree, but I need to be somewhere quiet. Thank you
