Slave to Love

This piece was inspired by Bryan Ferry’s song “Slave To Love,” which was featured in the movie “9 1/2 Weeks” starring Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke.

Slave To Love

Chained by desire
He keeps her begging for more
For him she’ll do anything
Be his everything
His angel
His whore

Igniting her passions
Her lover slowly drives her insane
He teases her to the brink
He fulfills her needs
The pleasure
The pain

He is her addiction
A thirst that can never be quenched
She needs it again and again
She’s a slave to love
His siren
His wench

          1. Thanks and I didn’t mean to put my nose where it doesn’t belong about what your relationship was with her (sorry if it seemed nosy). Anyway, I’m sorry to hear about the bad news. My grandma had Cancer so I know it’s difficult. I’m happy you’re doing well. Stay strong!

            1. No, that is quite okay. We were never married but we lived together for several years. I buried my parents leukemia and cancer of the liver. I have been there to watch slow deaths. I will do what I can for daughter and mother. Thank you for your kindness

      1. Hahaha! We watch Poldark and there’s this scene where Aidan is in a field scything grain with his shirt off. He’s just breathtaking! Both of us said “oh my god!” at the same time! So at least he understands! 😀

  1. Your poem reminds me of a cross between 9 1/2 weeks and 50 Shades of Grey. It evokes the same passion and emotion. You use words that create actual experiences for others. This requires enormous talent. Well done.
